Summarizing each of our 25-year resumes into brief biographies for this web site is less important than the "nitty gritty" of what skills, experience and personality traits make us, "Maddy and Greg", the perfect real estate team for our amazing clients.
After reading here a little bit about us, we hope very much you will be give us the chance to meet you in person. Then you can decide if we are the right team for that all-important role: to help you sell, buy or lease real estate in Toronto.
In a nutshell, we both have extensive sales, marketing and production experience. Both of us have worked overseas. Maddy immigrated to Toronto from Yorkshire, England in 1985, and Greg lived in Germany while working for a Global company.
About Maddy Dennett (Salesperson)
Before going into real estate, I was the co-owner of a marketing company that specialized in event production, sales seminars, publishing and advertising. I thrive at working under pressure, which is an essential skill in real estate. I'm known to be very efficient with great attention to detail. I have exceptional people skills (so I've been told) and I'm the team's primary paperwork person.
For the past 3 years I've been thrilled to be awarded our Brokerage's top honors, including the President's Club and Chairman's Club Awards.
About Greg McDowell (Salesperson)
For many years I specialized in Human Resources for sales-focused corporations. My experience includes executive search, employee placement, building and managing sales teams. I excel at multi-tasking and at being a team player. My eye for detail greatly helps in pre-viewing and preparing properties for sale. I keep highly current in technology, which is essential to stay on top of today's fast-moving real estate business.
I sincerely believe that my careful listening to clients makes them always feel "at ease", while still allowing me to assertively negotiate the very best deal for them.
Our personal life experience of having "been there, done that" greatly helps company executives who are relocating to other parts of Canada or overseas. Whether you're downsizing, upsizing or relocating -- no worries, we'll have you covered.
Maddy & Greg truly enjoy what we do for a living; and we are full-time real estate professionals. We love to laugh and both have a warm sense of humour (much needed especially in stressful negotiations). We're both animal lovers whose pets include a huge French Mastiff, a big Boxer, two cats and a noisy parrot. So we truly understand When pets are an important part of any real estate transaction.

About Nick Boothby (Salesperson)
I'm the originator of our "In The Beach" team. I alone & then our team were among the top 10 producers in our Brokerage (now with 300-plus agents) for 10 straight years; and have won our Brokerage's Top or 2nd-Top annual production awards no less than 6 times!
In 15-plus years at Real Estate Homeward, I became a leading Listing agent of higher priced & luxury homes. Although I focus mostly on the "New Beach" (Woodbine Park) area, my deals throughout the Beach and all of Toronto have ranged in value from under $200,000 to over $11.5 Million. In 2014 alone I've been involved in several $1.5 Million-plus deals.
I bring to my clients a broad background in aggressive marketing and clear communication. Before becoming a REALTOR®, I launched Real Estate advertising channels while Sales & Marketing Manager for 2 of Toronto's biggest cable TV companies. Previously I was Marketing Director of North America's largest motor home & houseboat rental business. Earlier I worked as Regional Manager for Midwest Canada & USA during 10 years with TAP Air Portugal.
My solid marketing & communication skills are reinforced by negotiating strengths learned in the Legal profession. I've also worked full or part-time in both TV & Radio broadcasting, and in Magazine journalism.
Born in Toronto and bred in Britain, I returned home in 1976 after 17 eventful years in Central Africa, where my 3 kids were born. Christine & I have been life-partners since 2000.
Since early 2014 I have been "Charlie" to my "Beach Angels" Maddy Dennett & Greg McDowell. They now form the front line of our "In The Beach" team, but constantly use my experience to acquire clients, prepare listings, draft documents and negotiate deals. However unlike TV's "Charlie", I make myself available to work face-to-face with clients whenever needed.
About Christine DeMerchant (Unlicensed Supportperson)
I'm our operation's Techie side. I design all "In The Beach" Flyers, Feature Sheets & Window Boards. I created & maintain our www.inthebeach.com Web Site (each property gets its own page). Our web presence's high quality makes our listings come up very quickly in Google searches; and also get picked up by multiple Real Estate sites. In addition I code and place web ads directly onto many other non - Real Estate sites.
My Science degree, 4-year certificate in Industrial Design & certificate in Change Management all support my technical skills. I was Nick's REALTOR® partner for 8 years before recently reverting to be a pure Techie.
Formerly I was Manager of Electronic Publishing at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind's Library. Later I became its Manager of Change Management & Process Improvement. My personal Web Site is Here
